Brostrend Wi-Fi Extender Setup Guide
In this post, I’ll show you how to set up your Brostrend Wi-Fi extender using a web browser or WPS.

Setting Up a Brostrend Wi-Fi Extender via the WPS Button
If your Brostrend Wi-Fi extender has a WPS button, you can set it up using the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) feature. Here are the steps to follow:
1. Find the WPS Button on Your Brostrend Wi-Fi Extender
The WPS button on your Brostrend Wi-Fi extender is usually located on the side or at the back of the device. It may be labeled “WPS” or have an icon that looks like two arrows forming a circle.
2. Press the WPS Button on Your Brostrend Wi-Fi Extender
Press and hold the WPS button on your Brostrend Wi-Fi extender for about 2-3 seconds until the LED light on the extender starts blinking.
3. Press the WPS Button on Your Router
Within two minutes of pressing the WPS button on your Brostrend Wi-Fi extender, you need to press the WPS button on your router. This will initiate the pairing process between your extender and your router.
4. Wait for the LED Light on your Brostrend Wi-Fi Extender to Turn Solid Blue
Once the pairing process is successful, the LED light on your Brostrend Wi-Fi extender will turn solid blue, indicating that it’s now connected to your router.
5. Place your Brostrend Wi-Fi Extender in the Desired Location
Now that your Brostrend Wi-Fi extender is paired with your router, you can unplug it from the power outlet and move it to the desired location.
Make sure the extender is within range of your router’s Wi-Fi signal and in a central location where it can effectively extend your Wi-Fi coverage.
You’ve successfully set up your Brostrend Wi-Fi extender using the WPS button. If your extender/router does not have a WPS button, you can set it using the web interface method below.
Setting Up a Brostrend Wi-Fi Extender Using the Extender’s Web Interface
1. Find the Right Spot for Your Wi-Fi Extender
The first step in setting up your Brostrend Wi-Fi extender is finding the right location.
Ideally, you should place it halfway between your router and the area where you want to extend your Wi-Fi coverage. Make sure the extender is within range of your router’s Wi-Fi signal.
2. Connect the Extender to Your Router
Plug your Brostrend Wi-Fi extender into a power outlet near your router.
Wait for the LED light on the extender to turn solid blue, which indicates that it’s ready to be configured. Then use an Ethernet cable to connect your extender to your router.
3. Access the Brostrend Wi-Fi Extender’s Web Interface
Open a web browser on your computer or mobile device and type http://re.brostrend.com or 192.168.0.254 in the address bar. Hit Enter — you should see the Brostrend Wi-Fi extender’s web interface.
If you encounter any issues, try resetting your extender and starting again from step 2.
4. Configure Your Brostrend Wi-Fi Extender
Follow the on-screen instructions to configure your Brostrend Wi-Fi extender. You’ll need to select your Wi-Fi network and enter your Wi-Fi password.
You can also change the SSID and password for your extender’s network, as well as adjust other settings.
5. Connect Your Devices to the Brostrend Wi-Fi Extender
Once you’ve finished configuring your Brostrend Wi-Fi extender, you can start connecting your devices to it.
Look for the new network name (SSID) and password you set up in step 4, and connect to it like you would with any Wi-Fi network.
Troubleshooting Your Brostrend Wi-Fi Extender
If you’re experiencing connectivity issues with your Brostrend Wi-Fi extender, don’t panic. There are several troubleshooting steps you can take to identify and resolve the problem.
Here are some of the most common issues and their corresponding solutions:
Brostrend Wi-Fi extender not connecting to your router
Make sure your extender is within range of your router’s Wi-Fi signal. Also, check that your router is turned on and working properly. If the problem persists, try resetting your extender and setting it up again from scratch.
Devices not connecting to your Brostrend Wi-Fi extender
Check that your extender is turned on and connected to your router. Also, make sure your devices are within range of your extender’s Wi-Fi signal and they’re using the correct network name (SSID) and password. Try resetting your extender if the problem persists.
Weak Wi-Fi signal from your Brostrend Wi-Fi extender
Try moving your extender to a different location, closer to the area where you need Wi-Fi coverage. You can also try adjusting the antennas on your extender for better signal strength. Check that your extender is properly configured and you’re using the correct network name (SSID) and password.
If none of these solutions work, you may need to reset your Brostrend Wi-Fi extender to its factory settings. Here’s how to do it:
- Locate the reset button on your Brostrend Wi-Fi extender.
- The reset button on your Brostrend Wi-Fi extender is usually located on the side or at the back of the device. It may be labeled “Reset” or have a small hole that you can press with a paperclip or pin.
- Press and hold the reset button on your Brostrend Wi-Fi extender
- Press and hold the reset button on your Brostrend Wi-Fi extender for about 10-15 seconds until the LED light on the extender starts flashing. This will reset your extender to its factory settings.
