Tips to Bring Your Wyze Lock Gateway Back Online

Reboot Your Wyze Lock Gateway

If your Wyze Lock Gateway goes offline, the device might not be working properly. To fix this problem, you’ll need to reboot the Gateway. Rebooting the Gateway will delete any cache that can affect its connection.

To reboot your Wyze Lock Gateway, unplug the device from your power outlet. Then wait for 5 minutes before plugging the Gateway back into the outlet.

Your Wyze Lock Gateway may come online after you’ve rebooted the device. But if the Gateway remains offline, continue to the next step.

Connect the Gateway to Another Power Outlet

Your Wyze Lock Gateway requires a certain amount of power to connect to the internet. The Gateway collects most of this power from the outlet to which it is connected. So, if you connect the Gateway to a faulty outlet, the device will go offline.

You can resolve this issue by plugging your Gateway into a different outlet. While doing this, ensure that the new outlet is still close to your Wyze Lock. Otherwise, the Gateway might disconnect from the lock. Your Wyze Lock Gateway should regain its connection after you’ve connected it to a new power outlet.

However, if the Gateway is still offline, move on to the next step.

Move the Gateway Closer to Your Router

Your router relies on proximity to connect to devices. So, if your Gateway is too far away from your router, the Gateway may go offline.

If your Gateway goes offline, move the device closer to your router. This should bring your Gateway back online.

However, if your Gateway is still offline, you’ll need to try the last tip.

Reset the Gateway

If your Wyze Lock Gateway is still offline after you’ve tried all the above tips, reset the Gateway.

To reset your Gateway, press and hold the Reset button until you see blue and red lights blinking from the device. After resetting your Gateway, you’ll need to set it up again in the Wyze app.

Follow these steps to set up your Wyze Lock Gateway:

  • Switch on Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Insert the Gateway’s plug into a power outlet close to your Wyze Lock.
  • Open your Wyze app and tap Home. Then click on the + sign in the upper left corner of the app.

  • You’ll now see your Gateway with other Gateways in your area.

  • Now, click on your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi password and input your password.
  • A solid green light will appear, showing the Gateway is now online.
