Setek Wi-Fi Extender Setup Instructions

You can configure your Setek Wi-Fi Repeater via WPS or using a Web Browser. Ideally, there are two ways to set up a Setek Wi-Fi Extender. Let’s start with the WPS method:

How to Set Up Your Setek Wi-Fi Extender Through the WPS Method

Follow the steps below to set up your Setek Wi-Fi Extender via WPS:

1. Power On the Extender

Plug your extender into a working wall socket near your router, then wait for a few seconds for the power light to turn on.

2. Press the WPS Buttons

Locate the WPS button on your router and then press and hold it for 1-2 seconds. Next, press the WPS button on your Setek Wi-Fi Extender for a few seconds and release it.

3. The Extender is Connected to Your Router

After pressing the WPS button on your devices, wait for about 30 seconds for the extender to restart automatically. If the indicator light on your extender goes off and then back on again, it means it is connected to your router.

4. Move the Extender to the Best Position

Now the setup is complete, and you’ll need to position your extender in a suitable location. It should be located midway between your router and the area that has a poor Wi-Fi signal. Note that any location you choose must be within the range of your Wi-Fi network.

If you have problems setting up your Setek Wi-Fi Extender, try again and ensure you follow the steps correctly. If you’re still unable to set it up, reset the Extender and your router, then try to set it up again.

Note: This method only works with routers that support WPS, so if your router doesn’t support WPS, skip to the next setup process.

How to Set Up a Setek Wi-Fi Extender Via a Web Browser

As mentioned, if you are unable to connect your extender using the WPS process, try this method. With this method, you can either use your smartphone or computer to set up your Setek Wi-Fi extender.

That said, here are the steps you need to take to set up your Setek Wi-Fi Extender via a web browser:

1. Power on the Extender

Plug the device into a wall socket near your wireless router and wait for the power light to light up.

2. Connect to the Extender’s Wi-Fi Network

Search and connect to the device’s Wi-Fi network using your phone or computer. You should find this on your wireless network list. Look out for “SETEK”

3. Sign in to the Management Page

The management interface should automatically pop up, especially if the extender is connected for the first time. But if it doesn’t come up by itself, open your web browser on the phone or laptop and enter 192.168.10.1 in the address bar. You can use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browsers.

4. Enter the Password

The next page that comes up will require you to input your password to login. Enter the default password (admin) and click Login. It will then scan for wireless networks for you to choose from.

5. Select the Wi-Fi Network to Extend

Now choose the Wi-Fi network you want to extend and input the password in the password field. The password should be the password of your existing Wi-Fi network. Next, click the Connect button.

Note that the extender’s default name (SSID) is your existing Wi-Fi network name but with “-plus” at the end.

6. Completing the Setup

Once the setup is complete, your Setek extender will reboot automatically. When it’s up, connect to your extender’s SSID to complete the process.

7. Move Your Extender to the Best Position

Move the extender and position it between your router and the area with poor Wi-Fi signals. Ensure that the location is within the range of your existing Wi-Fi router network.
