If you’ve just got a new JOOWIN Wi-Fi Extender and are not sure how to set it up, keep reading. In this post, I’ll be walking you through how to set up this device in minutes.
Let’s get right into it!
How to Set Up a JOOWIN Wi-Fi Extender?
Below are the steps to follow to set up your JOOWIN Wi-Fi extender:
1. Choose the Repeater Mode
The first step to getting your JOOWIN Wi-Fi extender set up is choosing the “Repeater Mode” which is located on the side of the device. Check the mode selector on the side of the device and toggle it to the “Repeater” position.
2. Power on the Extender
After selecting the right mode, plug the device into a working wall socket and switch it on. Find the power button on the side of the device and long-press it for a few seconds. Now, wait for all the lights on the device to light up.
3. Connect to the Extender Network
Once the lights are up, wait for about 60 seconds, then connect to “JOOWIN-XXX-2G” or “JOOWIN-XXX-5G” as shown on your phone’s Wi-Fi list.
4. Open the Management Page and Set Password
Open a web browser on your smartphone or computer (preferably Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox) and enter “192.168.10.1” in the address field. Then enter the default password “admin” and click “Set Password”.
5. Scan and Select Your Wi-Fi
The extender will scan the available Wi-Fi networks. Next, select the Wi-Fi you want to extend, enter the password and click “Save Settings”.
6. Setup Process is Complete
The device will reboot automatically. Now reconnect Wi-Fi “XXX-2G” or “XXX-5G, which is your new extender Wi-Fi. The password is your original Wi-Fi password.
Note: During the last step of the configuration, note the “combine Wi-Fi” and “sync your device” buttons. If you turn on “Combine Wi-Fi”, you will need to reconnect Wi-Fi “XXX-2G&5G” (your new extender Wi-Fi) after the device reboots automatically.
But if you choose the “Sync your device” option, the extended Wi-Fi name will be the same as your own Wi-Fi, so you don’t need to reconnect the extended Wi-Fi after setup is complete. However, using the “combine Wi-Fi” option guarantees a high-quality band for better performance.
