Lost EMTEK Programming Code? (Fixed!)
If you’ve lost or forgotten your EMTEK Lock Programming Code and are not sure what to do, keep reading.
In this post, I’ll show you what you can do to rectify lost Programming Code issues with your EMTEK Lock. Sounds like what you’re looking for? Then let’s get right into it.
Here’s what to do if you have lost your EMTEK Lock Programming Code:
Reset the Lock
Yes, you read that right. If you’ve lost your EMTEK Lock Programming Code, the only way to go about the issue is to reset the lock. As you probably know, resetting the lock will restore factory default settings, meaning the current Programming Code will be replaced with the preset Programming Code.
But first, you need to be sure that the preset Programming Code is handy. You can find the preset Programming Code on the inside of the trim plate (see the image below) and on the user manual—printed on a white label.
If you’ve gotten the preset Programming Code, you can now proceed with the reset.
Here’s how to reset your EMTEK Electronic Lock (EMTouch/EMTouch Classic):
- On the keypad, press and hold the EMTEK button for about three seconds.
- Enter 000000, then wait for the lock to beep twice and flash green twice. Next, disconnect the battery.
- Wait five seconds and reconnect the battery. The lock will beep twice and flash green twice, indicating that the reset is successful.
Now, your lock is reset, meaning the lost Programming Code has been replaced with the preset Programming Code. You can now use the preset Programming Code to reprogram your lock.
Note that you’ll need to change the preset Programming Code to ensure that no one else can change your lock programming. More so, you need to add new User Codes on your lock to be able to unlock the door via the keypad.
If you’re not sure how to change the preset Programming Code, delete the preset User Codes and add new User Codes, continue to the next paragraphs.

Wrapping Up

Note that the preset Programming Code is generated randomly in the factory, so ensure you change the code for security reasons.
