8 Tips to Get Your Wyze Vacuum Back Online

If your Wyze Vacuum keeps falling offline and you’re not sure how to bring it back online, keep reading.

Wyze Vacuum offline

In short, you can get your Wyze Vacuum back online by charging the device. Another way to troubleshoot this issue is to move your router closer to the vacuum.

If your Wyze Vacuum remains offline after you’ve applied these tips, read on for more troubleshooting tips.

1. Charge the Device

Your Wyze Vacuum needs power to stay connected to Wi-Fi. So, if the vacuum’s battery is low, it may go offline.

You’ll see a yellow status light on your Wyze Vacuum if the device’s battery is low. If you see this light on the vacuum, you’ll need to connect the device to its charging station.

If your vacuum is already connected to its charging station, yet it is offline, the device might not be charging. To fix this issue, ensure that your charging station is plugged into a working power outlet.

To check if the power outlet is working, disconnect your charging station from the outlet and plug your phone charger into it. Then, try charging your phone. If your phone charges, the power outlet is working. In that case, you can skip to the next tip in this article.

However, if your phone doesn’t charge, the power outlet might be faulty. In that case, you’ll need to find a working power outlet. Test the new power outlet with your phone charger before plugging the charging station into the outlet.

2. Reboot and Reset Your Router

Your Wyze Vacuum might be offline because your router has developed a functional error.

To fix this issue, you’ll need to reboot your router.

Here’s how to reboot your router:

  • Unplug the router from your power outlet.
  • Wait 20-30 seconds.
  • Then replug your router into the outlet.

If your Wyze Vacuum doesn’t come back online after the reboot, your router might still be malfunctioning.

As such, you can try resetting your router. A reset should eliminate all the glitches in your router.

To reset your router, press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. You can find the reset button at the back or bottom of your router.

After resetting your router, open your Wyze app and check if your Wyze Vacuum is online now. If the device is still offline, continue to the next tip.

3. Move Your Router Closer to the Vacuum

As your Wyze Vacuum tries to clean the rooms in your home, it may move far away from your router. When this happens, the device might go offline. This is because your router cannot transmit signals to devices located over 30 feet away from itself.

If your router is too far away from your Wyze Vacuum, consider moving the router closer to the device.

That said, there are cases where moving your router from its current location will cause other devices to go offline. In that case, you’ll need to move the vacuum cleaner closer to the router.

You might also need to set virtual walls around rooms that are too far away from your router to prevent your Wyze Vacuum from going offline again. Your vacuum cleaner won’t clean any room with a virtual wall.

Once your Wyze Vacuum is close enough to your router, go back into your Wyze app and check if the vacuum is back online. If the device is still offline, continue to the next step.

4. Turn on Your Phone’s Wi-Fi Settings

Your Wyze Vacuum may be back online, but the Wyze app might still be showing that the device is offline. This problem might occur because you mistakenly turned off your phone’s Wi-Fi settings while trying to reconnect your vacuum to Wi-Fi.

To resolve this issue, you’ll need to re-activate Wi-Fi on your phone.

Here’s how to do that:

  • Tap on the Settings app on your phone.
  • Then click on Connections.
  • Select Wi-Fi.
  • Toggle the switch beside the Wi-Fi option to the On position.
  • After turning on your phone’s Wi-Fi settings, close your Wyze app. Then open the app.

Now, check if the Wyze Vacuum is back online in the app. If the app indicates that the vacuum is still offline, proceed to the next step.

5. Disconnect and Reconnect Your Phone to Wi-Fi

If your Wyze app is saying that your Wyze Vacuum is offline, your phone might not be working properly. You can try disconnecting and reconnecting your phone to Wi-Fi to fix this issue.

If your Wyze app still displays your vacuum as Offline after you’ve tried this tip, move on to the next tip.

6. Restart Your Phone

Your Wyze Vacuum may still appear as offline in the Wyze app after you’ve tried all the tips above. This may mean that your phone is still malfunctioning.

Restarting your phone should clear this error. You can restart your phone by turning it off and back on.

8. Factory Reset Your Wyze Vacuum

If none of these steps fixes these issues, your Wyze Vacuum might be faulty.

A factory reset may eliminate this fault. Please note that all the settings you’ve added to your vacuum will disappear after the factory reset.

Take the following steps to factory reset your Wyze Vacuum:

  • Press and hold the power button on the vacuum for 5 seconds.
  • You should hear a beep now.
  • Release the button when you hear the beep.
  • Next, press and hold the power button again for 5 seconds.
  • You have completed the factory reset.

After factory resetting your Wyze Vacuum, you’ll need to re-add all the previous settings you made to the device. You’ll also have to set up the vacuum in the Wyze app.
