Veise Door Lock Programming Instructions
If you’ve just acquired a new/previously used Veise Keypad Deadbolt and are not sure how to program it, this post is your go-to resource.
In this guide, I’ll show you how to change the Master Code on your Veise Electronic Deadbolt, add/remove User Codes, set auto-lock, and more.
If this sounds like what you’re looking for, let’s head right into it.
Detect Left/Right-Hand Door Installation
If your Veise Lock is newly installed, the first step is to detect left/right-hand door installation.
This process teaches the lock the orientation of your door—if it’s a right/left-handed door.
Your lock won’t function properly if you don’t do this, so make sure you don’t skip this step.
Here’s how to detect left/right-hand door installation:
- Open the battery cover and insert 3 batteries. The lock uses 4 batteries but you need to get 3 in first.
- Get a pin or the reset tool that comes with the lock. Next, check below the battery pack to find a pinhole labeled RES.
- Insert the pin inside the hole. Next, press and hold it.
- While holding it, put the 4th battery in. Keep holding until you hear a long beep and the latch bolt extends.
- Once you hear a long beep and the latch bolt extends, remove the pin. The process is complete.
Changing the Master Code
The Master Code on your Veise Lock allows users to make programming changes in the lock. For example, if you want to add or delete a User Code, you’ll need to enter the Master Code to gain access.
Your Veise Keypad Deadbolt comes with a default Master Code—12345678. If you’ve just installed a new Veise Lock, you’ll need to change the default Master Code to ensure security.
Also, if you’ve acquired a previously used Veise Keypad Lock, you need to change the existing Master Code for security reasons.
That said, here’s how to change the default/existing Master Code on your Veise Keypad Deadbolt:
- Press the Multi-Function button twice (the button at the top of the keypad with three horizontal lines).
- Enter the current Master Code (the one you want to change). For a new Veise Lock, the current Master Code is the default Code—12345678.
- Next, press the Multi-Function button once. Then press 1.
- Enter a new Master Code (4-10 digits) and press the Multi-Function button.
- Re-enter the new Master Code and press the Multi-Function button.
- The lock will flash green, showing the programming is successful.
Now your new Master Code is active, and that’s the code to use for other programming.
Note: Make sure you don’t enter a forward sequence (12345…), backward sequence (54321…), or repeat sequence (11111…) number when changing the Master Code or adding new User Codes. The lock won’t accept any of these number formats—and programming may fail as a result.
Adding a User Code
A User Code for this lock is a 4-10 digit code that allows you to unlock the lock from outside. You can add up to 20 User Codes and share them with your household members.
To add a User Code to your Veise Keypad Lock, follow these steps:
- Press the Multi-Function button twice.
- Enter your Master Code and press the Multi-Function button once.
- Press 2. Next, enter a new User Code (4-10 digits) and press the Multi-Function button.
- Re-enter the new User Code and press the Multi-Function button.
- You’ll see a green flash, indicating the User Code has been added.
Repeat the steps to add more User Codes (up to 20), if you want.
Deleting a User Codes
While you can add as many as 20 User Codes to your Veise Electronic Deadbolt, you can also remove any of the User Codes.
Here’s how to delete a User Code:
- Press the Multi-Function button twice.
- Then enter your current Master Code and press the Multi-Function button once.
- Press 3. Then enter the User Code you want to remove.
- Now press the Multi-Function button to complete the process.
- The lock will flash green, meaning the User Code has been deleted.
To confirm that the code is deleted, lock your door from the outside and try unlocking it with the deleted code. If it doesn’t work, it’s been deleted for sure.
Enabling and Disabling Auto-Lock
The Veise Keypad Deadbolt comes with an auto-lock feature that automatically locks the door when it closes.
However, you’ll need to enable the feature to get it to work.
Here’s how to enable auto-lock:
- Press the Multi-Function button twice.
- Enter your Master Code and press the Multi-Function button.
- Press 5 and wait for a green flash. Then press 1 and press the Multi-Function button.
- The lock will flash green, showing the programming is successful—auto-lock function is now active.
To disable auto-lock:
- Press the Multi-Function button twice. Then enter your Master Code and press the Multi-Function button once.
- Press 5 and wait for a green flash. Next, press 2 and press the Multi-Function button. You’ll see a green flash, showing the auto-lock function is disabled.
Enabling and Disabling Vacation Mode
Enabling Vacation Mode on your Veise Lock disables all User Codes. During this time, no User Code can unlock the door. You can only unlock using the Master Code.
This feature is useful when you’re leaving home and don’t want anyone else to unlock your front door or so.
That said, here’s how to enable Vacation Mode:
- Press the Multi-Function button twice. Then enter your Master Code and press the Multi-Function button once.
- Press 6 and wait for a green flash. Then press the Multi-Function button.
- Next, the lock flashes green, meaning Vacation Mode is enabled.
To disable Vacation Mode:
Enter your Master Code and press the Multi-Function button. This action will unlock the door and also disable Vacation Mode.
Activating and Deactivating Silent Mode
If you’re not comfortable with the beeper sound from your lock, you can activate silent mode.
Here’s how to activate silent mode:
- Press the Multi-Function button twice. Then enter your Master Code and press the Multi-Function button once.
- Press 4 and wait for a green flash.
- Then press 1 and press the Multi-Function button.
- You’ll see a green flash, showing silent mode is now active.
To deactivate silent mode, repeat the steps but press 2 (instead of 1) in the last step before hitting the Multi-Function button.
Resetting Your Veise Keypad Deadbolt
If your Veise Lock is not working properly, such as not locking/unlocking or the keypad not responding, performing a factory reset is usually a go-to fix.
Or if you’ve lost your Master Code, you can reset the lock and reprogram it using the default Master Code.
Keep in mind that resetting the lock will remove all custom settings, including User Codes. So, you’ll need to program the lock afresh.
That said, here’s how to factory reset your Veise Keypad Deadbolt:
- Keep your door open and unlocked.
- Go to the interior assembly of the lock and remove the battery cover. Look for a circle button below the battery compartment labeled RES. That’s the Reset button.
- Get a pin or paper clip. Then press and hold the Reset button with any of these tools.
- While holding the Reset button, remove one battery and put it back in.
- Keep holding the Reset button (for about 3 seconds) until the latch extends.
- Now your lock is reset.

Wrapping Up
As you can see, programming the Veise Keypad Lock is a straightforward process.
Just follow the steps carefully and you’ll be done with the programming of your new Veise Lock in a few minutes—even though you don’t have the user manual that comes with the lock.
If the lock flashes red at the end of a programming session, it means the programming is unsuccessful. Repeat the steps and make sure you follow them properly.
