Eufy Light Bulb Not Connecting to Wi-Fi [How to Fix]
If you’re having issues getting your Eufy Light Bulb connected to Wi-Fi, here are some reasons this might be happening:
- Weak Wi-Fi signal strength.
- You’re connecting to an unsupported Wi-Fi band.
- You entered the wrong Wi-Fi password while setting up the bulb in the EufyHome app.
- You have connected too many devices to your router.
- Your bulb isn’t working properly.
Next, let’s look at what you can do to get your Eufy Lumos smart bulb to connect to Wi-Fi.
How to Fix Eufy Light Bulb Wi-Fi Connection Issues
Reboot Your Router
If your Eufy Light Bulb isn’t connecting to Wi-Fi, your internet connection might be faulty. Rebooting your router should fix this issue.
To reboot your router, unplug the device from your power outlet and wait for 10 seconds. Then reconnect your router to the outlet.
Your bulb may connect to Wi-Fi after this. But if the bulb isn’t connecting, proceed to the next tip.
Move your Router Closer to the Bulb
A weak Wi-Fi signal may prevent your Eufy light bulb from connecting. When your Wi-Fi signal becomes weak, it’s often because your router is too far from the bulb and your phone.
To resolve this problem, bring the router closer to the bulb. Ensure the phone is also placed near the bulb.
If your bulb doesn’t connect to Wi-Fi after bringing the router and bulb closer, continue to the next step.
Change Your Wi-Fi Band
The Eufy Light Bulb is only compatible with the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band. So, if your bulb is not connecting to Wi-Fi, your router might not be broadcasting on the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band. In that case, you’ll need to change your Wi-Fi band.
Check your router user manuals for details on how to change your Wi-Fi band.
After changing your Wi-Fi band, try connecting your bulb to Wi-Fi again. If the device fails to connect, continue to the next step.
Check that You’ve Entered the Correct Wi-Fi Password
Your Eufy Light Bulb connects to Wi-Fi when pairing with the EufyHome app. So, if you input the wrong password in the app, the bulb won’t connect to Wi-Fi.
If your bulb isn’t connecting to Wi-Fi, you’ll need to check that you’ve entered the correct password to your Wi-Fi network.
Here’s how to do that:
- Open the Settings app on your phone. Then click on Connections and Preferences.
- Choose Wi-Fi. All the Wi-Fi networks around you will appear.
- Scroll to your Wi-Fi network and click on the gear icon beside it.
- You’ll see the Show Password option. Click on the option to reveal your Wi-Fi password.
- Write down the password in a note to help you remember it.
- Now, input this password into the EufyHome app.
Your Eufy Light Bulb should connect to Wi-Fi now. But if it doesn’t, move on to the next step.
Disconnect Some Devices from Your Wi-Fi Router
Depending on the type of Wi-Fi bandwidth you use, your router can only connect with a certain number of devices at once. If you connect more devices to your router than your bandwidth can accommodate, some devices will fail to connect.
Perhaps your Eufy Light bulb isn’t connecting because it was one of the last devices you tried to connect to Wi-Fi. As such, you might need to disconnect some devices from your router.
Changing your Wi-Fi password is the fastest way to disconnect some devices from your router. The steps for changing the Wi-Fi password differ from one router to another. So, you’ll need to check your router’s user manual for specific details on how to change your Wi-Fi password.
After changing your Wi-Fi password, enter the new password into the EufyHome app. Then try connecting the bulb to Wi-Fi again.
If your bulb still isn’t connecting to Wi-Fi after this, try the next tip.
Reset Your Bulb
If your Eufy light bulb doesn’t connect to Wi-Fi after you’ve tried all the steps above, you’ll need to reset the bulb.
Here’s how to reset your Eufy Light Bulb:
- Switch the bulb off and on. Repeat this process four more times.
- A light will flash from the bulb three times.
- Now, open your EufyHome app.
- You should see a set of instructions to help you complete the reset.
After you’ve finished resetting the bulb, connect your bulb to Wi-Fi again. The bulb should connect now.
