Feit Floodlight Camera Not Connecting [How to Fix]
So you’ve been trying to set up your Feit Floodlight Camera in the Feit app, but the device won’t connect to Wi-Fi? In this post, we explain why this might be happening and how to troubleshoot the problem. Let’s dive in!
Here are some reasons you might be facing this issue:
- You are connecting to an unsupported Wi-Fi band.
- Your internet is unstable/not working.
- Your Feit Floodlight camera is too far away from your router.
- You have entered the wrong Wi-Fi password during setup.
In this article, we’ll show you how to resolve these problems so that you can connect your camera to Wi-Fi.
How to Fix Feit Floodlight Camera Connectivity Issues
Reset Your Camera
Your Feit Floodlight Camera may encounter an error while trying to pair with the Feit app. As a result, the pairing process will be unsuccessful.
If your Feit camera isn’t paired with the Feit app, it won’t be able to connect to Wi-Fi. In that case, you’ll have to reset the camera.
How do you know if your camera has failed to pair with the app? If your camera doesn’t successfully pair with the Feit app, a red LED light will blink from the camera. However, if the pairing process is successful, you’ll see a blue light flashing from the camera.
If you see a red light blinking from your camera, press and hold the reset button until a blue light flashes on the camera. You will find your Feit camera’s reset button if you open the cover on the side of the camera.
Your camera should connect to Wi-Fi once you have successfully paired the device with the Feit app. However, if your camera doesn’t connect to Wi-Fi after this, check out the next tip.
Reboot Your Router
If your Feit camera isn’t connecting to Wi-Fi, another fix to try is refreshing your Wi-Fi network.
You can refresh your Wi-Fi network by rebooting the router. To reboot your router, unplug it from the power source and plug it back in.
If it’s still not connecting, try connecting your smartphone to your Wi-Fi network and surfing the internet with the phone. If website pages load quickly on your browser, your router is working properly.
However, if website pages take a while to load, or your browser can’t access the internet, the fault might be from your ISP. Reach out to your ISP and report the problem.
Bring Your Router Closer to Your Camera
You’ve confirmed that your router works properly, yet your camera still isn’t connecting to Wi-Fi? This might be because your router is too far away from your camera.
Your router works better with devices that are within its range. In contrast, placing the router a mile away can cause a device to completely lose Wi-Fi signals.
How do you know if your router and camera are too far apart? Your router is too far from your camera if the distance between them is over 30 feet.
If your router is too far from your camera, you’ll need to bring the router closer to the camera. Your Feit Smart Floodlight camera should connect to Wi-Fi after moving the router closer to the device.
But if your camera fails to connect to Wi-Fi, move on to the next tip.
Check Your Wi-Fi Band
Feit Floodlight camera isn’t compatible with the 5GHz Wi-Fi band but 2.4GHz. If the device keeps failing to connect to your Wi-Fi network, check that your router is broadcasting on the supported Wi-Fi frequency (2.4GHz).
You can do this through your router’s admin page. If you’re not sure how to do this, refer to your user manual for instructions on how to change the Wi-Fi band on your router.
Check that You’ve Entered the Correct Wi-Fi Password
When you are trying to connect your Feit Floodlight Camera to Wi-Fi, the app will prompt you to input the Wi-Fi password. If you do not enter the correct password, your camera won’t connect.
If your camera is not connecting to Wi-Fi, check that you have entered the correct password to your Wi-Fi network.
If you’ve forgotten your Wi-Fi password, reset the router and set a new password.
Is your camera still not connecting to Wi-Fi? Then, you’ll need to contact the Feit technical support team for help.
Final Thoughts
If your Feit Floodlight Camera isn’t connecting to Wi-Fi, reset the camera and start the connection process again. If that doesn’t help, reboot your router and ensure it’s operating on the 2.4GHz band.
More so, move the router closer to your camera to improve Wi-Fi signals. You should also ensure that you have entered the correct Wi-Fi password in the Feit app.
If your camera doesn’t connect to Wi-Fi after you’ve tried all these tips, report the problem to the Feit technical support team.
