How to Program Alarm Lock Trilogy DL2800 (User Manual)
Looking for Alarm Lock Trilogy DL2800 programming instructions? You’re sure on the right page.
In this post, I will walk you through the steps to change your Trilogy DL2800 Master Code, add/delete User Codes, reset factory settings, and more.
So whether you’re looking to program your new DL2800 or reprogram an existing one, this post contains valuable information for you. Let’s begin!
Trilogy DL2800 has two modes—the normal mode and programming mode. So when you want to program your lock—such as adding or deleting User Codes, you need to first put it in programming mode. You’ll learn more about this as you read on.
Changing the Master Code on Your Trilogy DL2800
Like other Trilogy lock models (DL2700, DL300, etc.), DL2800 comes with a default Master Code—123456. This code allows users to enter programming mode and then make changes to the lock programming.
However, it’s a factory default code, meaning other Trilogy DL2800 probably have the same code, so you need to change it to ensure security.
Also, if you’ve acquired a previously owned Trilogy lock, changing the Master Code ensures that only you can enter programming mode and make changes to the lock programming.
So, here is how to change the Master Code on a Trilogy DL2800 lock:
- Put your lock in Programming Mode by entering the default Master Code (123456) via the keypad. Then wait for the green light to illuminate. Note: if you’ve previously changed the Master Code, enter the current one.
- When the green light illuminates, press the AL button until you hear multiple beeps. Your lock is now in programming mode and it’ll beep every 6 seconds to remind you it’s in programming mode.
- Press the AL button. Then press the number 1 key.
- Press the AL button and enter your new Master Code (6 digits).
- Press the AL button and re-enter the new Master Code. Then press the Star button.
Now the Master Code has been changed and you can exit Programming Mode by holding down any button on the keypad for 3 seconds. The lock will beep multiple times to confirm the Programming Mode exit.
How to Add New User Codes to Your Trilogy DL2800 Lock
As you probably know, a User Code (also called access code or passcode) is a 3 to 6-digit number you can enter on the keypad to unlock the lock. Trilogy DL2800 allows users to store up to 200 codes and you can as well delete/change any code—if you want.
That is, you can add up to 200 User Codes in this lock and share with those you want to give access to your property. Of course, it’s a commercial-grade lock, so you can share codes with your staff, contractors, etc.
With that being said, here’s how to add a User Code on a Trilogy DL2800 keypad lock:
- Enter your current Master Code and then press the AL button.
- Press the AL button and press the number 2 key.
- Press the AL button again and enter a user number. Note that a user number is not a User Code, but a number linked to a User Code. Each User Code must be linked to a user number—2 to 200).
- Press the AL button. Next, enter a new User Code and press the Star button.
And that’s all about adding a User Code. Repeat the process to add more User Codes—if you want to.
Deleting a User Code
- Enter your current Master Code and press the AL button.
- Press the AL button and then press 2.
- Press the AL button and then enter the user number linked to the User Code you want to delete.
- Press the AL button and then press the Star button to delete the User Code.
Deleting All User Codes
You can also delete all programmed User Codes at once except the Master Code. Here’s here to do that:
- Put your lock in programming mode (enter your Master Code and then press the AL button).
- Press the AL button and then press 1 and 0 (10).
- Press the AL button and enter 000.
- Now press the Star button to complete the process.
The lock will beep and illuminate green confirming that all User Codes/users have been successfully deleted.
Changing a User Code
Here’s how to change a User Code:
- Enter your current Master Code and press the AL button to activate programming mode.
- Press the AL button and press the number 2 key.
- Press the AL button and enter the user number linked to the User Code you want to change.
- Press the AL button and enter a new User Code. Then press the Star button.
The new code will override the old code linked to the user number. You should test both the new and old code to confirm the changes.
How to Enable/Disable Users on Trilogy DL2800
As mentioned, any User Code must be linked to a unique user number. So technically you can disable a User Code by disabling the user number.
If you don’t want to delete/change a User Code, but want to disable it temporarily, you can do that by disabling a user number. So here’s how to do that:
To Disable:
- Enter your current Master Code and then press the AL button.
- Press the AL button and then press 3.
- Press the AL button, enter the user number you want to disable, and then press the Star button.
Now you’ve successfully disabled the user number, meaning the User Code associated with that number won’t unlock the lock until you enable it.
To Enable:
- Enter your Master Code and press the AL button.
- Press the AL button and then press 4.
- Press the AL button, enter the user number to be enabled and then press the Star button.
How to Enable/Disable Passage Mode
Passage mode (when enabled) allows you to keep your door unlocked for some time, so anyone can access the door without the need for a User Code. You can use the passage mode to keep your door unlocked during business hours—that’s if you’re using the lock on a commercial door.
That said, here’s how to enable the feature:
- Input your Master Code and then press the AL button.
- Press the AL button and then enter 4 and 5 (45).
- Now press the Star button to complete the process.
To disable Passage Mode, repeat all steps above, but enter 4 and 6 (46) in step 2 instead of 4 and 5 (45). That is, when you get to step 2, press the AL button and enter 4 and 6 (46) and then proceed to the last step.
You may also decide to set Timed Passage Mode. With this, you don’t need to bother about disabling the passage mode as the lock will automatically do that based on the time value you set.
Here’s how to enable Timed Passage Mode:
- Input your current Master Code and then press the AL button.
- Press the AL button and then press 4 and 7 (47).
- Press the AL button and then enter your preferred time value in hours. For instance, 012(for 12 hours).
- Press the Star button to complete the process.
Enabling Auto-Lock/Pass Time
With this feature enabled, your lock will automatically lock after it’s left unlocked for some time—depending on the time value.
Here’s how to enable the Pass Time feature:
- Enter your Master Code and press the AL button.
- Press the AL button, enter 5 and 1 (51) and then press the Star button. This will set Pass Time 3 to 5 seconds.
- To set Pass Time to 10 seconds, repeat steps 1 and 2 but enter 5 and 2 (52) instead of 51.
- And for 15 seconds, enter 5 and 3 (53). (The same steps but different numbers in step 2).
How to Reset Trilogy Lock DL2800
Resetting your lock will erase all previous programming, meaning you’ll have to reprogram the lock using the default Master Code.
Here’s how to factory reset a Trilogy DL2800 lock:
- Enter your Master Code and then press the AL button.
- Press the AL button and then enter 99.
- Press the AL button and press 000 and then press the Star button.
Now your lock has been reset to factory default settings. The lock will beep and illuminate to confirm the action.
