Nooie Smart Plug works fine. But as with every electronic/smart device, the device may malfunction at one point. So in this post, I’ll walk you through the steps to troubleshoot common problems you may have with your Nooie Smart Plug. Let’s begin!
Nooie Smart Plug Not Connecting to Wi-Fi: How to Troubleshoot
Wi-Fi connectivity issues are common with most smart plugs, including the Nooie Smart Plug. So if you’re currently having issues connecting your plug to Wi-Fi, here are some troubleshooting tips to try:
1. Confirm that Your Plug Has Received Power and Ready to Connect
To connect your plug to Wi-Fi, you need to first turn it on. So check that your smart plug is plugged into a working outlet and ready to connect. You should see a blinking light on the LED indicator and that indicates it’s searching for a Wi-Fi network and ready to connect.
If your plug is not blinking rapidly, press and hold the Power button for a few seconds until it starts blinking rapidly.
2. Check If You’re Connected to the Right Wi-Fi Network Band
As you probably know, most Smart Plugs do not support the 5GHz Wi-Fi network, including Nooie Smart Plug. So if you’re having issues connecting your device to Wi-Fi via the app, chances are your Wi-Fi network is not supported.
Check your Phone’s Wi-Fi settings to see if you’re connected to a 5GHz Wi-Fi network. If so, switch to a 2.4GHz network and try to connect your device to home Wi-Fi again.
Note: Switching your Wi-Fi network band could be tricky depending on the router you’re using. If your router has a dual band, you can switch the network band on your phone or via the router. Check your User Manual for detailed instructions if needed.
3. Improve Wi-Fi Signal Strength
You may also experience connectivity issues if your Wi-Fi signal strength is weak. So you want to ensure that your router is supplying strong network signals to avoid connection issues.
You can improve your Wi-Fi network signal by positioning your router closer to the Smart Plug. If you can’t change your router’s position because of other devices, consider getting a Wi-Fi extender to boost network signal strength.
4. Ensure Your Wi-Fi Password is Correct
While this may rarely cause the issue, you want to confirm that your Wi-Fi password is correct. As you can see during the connection process, you need to enter your Wi-Fi password to authorize the connection. And the connection will surely fail if you enter an incorrect Wi-Fi password. So check and ensure your password is correct.
5. Reduce the Number of Devices Connected to Your Router
Connecting too many devices to your router simultaneously may cause connectivity issues. Besides, some routers do not allow users to connect more than 10 devices at a time.
So check to see whether you’ve connected the maximum devices your router can accept at a time. If so, disconnect some devices and then try to connect your Smart Plug again. And even though your router accepts way more devices, you should reduce them if they are over 10—as this could cause connectivity problems.

6. Reset Your Plug and Update the App
If you’re still having issues connecting your Smart Plug to Wi-Fi after trying the above troubleshooting steps, then performing a factory reset is your best bet to solve the problem. For the most part, performing a factory reset will fix several problems you’re having with your Nooie Smart Plug.
So here’s how to perform a factory reset on your Nooie Smart Plug:
Press and hold the Power button (for about 8 seconds) until the indicator light blinks rapidly. This should reset your Nooie Smart Plug and possibly fix the Wi-Fi connection issues.
More so, connectivity issues can be caused by the app—especially when you’re not running the current version. So check for updates and update the app. Also, check and update your device’s firmware.
Nooie Smart Plug Not Pairing: How to Troubleshoot

How to Set Up Nooie Smart Plug with the Nooie Home App
- Step 1: Go to Google Play or Apple App Store (depending on the phone you’re using) and install the Nooie Home App. Simply search “Nooie Home” to find the app.
- Step 2: Plug in your Smart Plug and ensure the indicator light is flashing rapidly. If it’s not flashing, unplug and plug it back in and then press and hold the Power button (for a few seconds) until you see a rapidly flashing light.
- Step 3: Return to the app on your phone and create an account with Nooie or sign in if you already have an existing account. Next, tap “Add Device” and select “Nooie Smart Plug”.
- Step 4: The app will prompt you to confirm that the indicator light on your Smart Plug is flashing rapidly. If it’s flashing rapidly, tap “Light Flashing Rapidly”.
- Step 5: Enter your Wi-Fi password and tap Confirm. Ensure your Wi-Fi is running a 2.4Ghz network band—Nooie Smart Plug doesn’t support a 5GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Step 6: Now wait for your Smart Plug to connect to your Home Wi-Fi network. Once it’s connected, you’ll see a note on your screen — “Pairing Successful”. Rename your device if you want and tap “Save“.
