TEEHO Fingerprint Lock Programming Instructions
In this post, I’m going to show you how to program the TEEHO Fingerprint Keypad Deadbolt—TEEHO TE002. For TEEHO TE001, see the programming guide here.
If you’re also looking to get a copy of the TEEHO Fingerprint Lock manual, you’ll find it on the bottom of this post—PDF file.
That said, let’s get started with the programming.
Bolt Direction Determination
After installing your lock, the first programming step is to perform the bolt direction determination. The lock needs to learn if the door is right or left-handed—for proper locking/unlocking.
Here’s how to run the bolt direction determination:
- Insert three batteries (don’t load the fourth one yet).
- Next, get a pin or the reset tool that came with the lock.
- Check below the battery compartment to find a pinhole labeled RES.
- Insert the pin into the pinhole. Then press and hold it. Load the fourth battery while holding the pin.
- Keep holding it until you hear a beep, and the latch bolt extends. The bolt direction determination is complete.
Changing the Master Code
After installing your lock and detecting the orientation of your door, you need to change the default Master Code before any other programming.
The lock comes with a default Master Code—12345678.
Follow these steps to change the default Master Code:
- Press the TEEHO button twice.
- Enter the default Master Code—12345678.
- Press the TEEHO button.
- Press 1.
- Enter a new Master Code — 4-10 numbers. Then press the TEEHO button.
- Enter the new Master Code again and press the TEEHO button.
- If the lock TEEHO button flashes green, the Master Code has been successfully changed.
But if you see red flashes, the programming is unsuccessful. Start the process again and make sure your new code has random, unique numbers.
You can also use these steps to change an existing Master Code. All you need to do is to press the TEEHO button twice, then enter the existing Master Code and follow the rest of the steps to change the code.
Adding User Codes
After changing the default Master Code, the next thing you want to do is to add User Codes. A User Code is a 4-10 digit code you can enter on the keypad to unlock your door.
You can add up to 20 codes to this lock.
Follow these steps to add a User Code:
- Press the TEEHO button twice.
- Enter your Master Code and press the TEEHO button.
- Press 2. Then enter a new User Code (4-10 numbers) and press the TEEHO button.
- Enter the same code again and press the TEEHO button.
- The lock will flash green, showing the code has been added.
- You can repeat the steps to add more codes.
Removing a User Code
As mentioned earlier, you can add up to 20 User Codes to this lock. You can also remove any code — if you want.
Here’s how to remove a User Code:
- Press the TEEHO button twice.
- Enter your Master Code and press the TEEHO button.
- Press 3. Then enter the code you want to remove and press the TEEHO button.
- And that’s it. A green flash on the TEEHO button shows the code has been removed.
Adding Fingerprints
To add a fingerprint to the lock, follow these steps:
- Press the TEEHO button twice.
- Enter your Master Code and press the TEEHO button.
- Press 4. Now scan your fingerprint 8 times (place your finger on the fingerprint scanner and lift it 8 times). Each time the lock accepts the fingerprint, you’ll hear a beep.
- Next, you’ll see a green flash and hear a long beep, indicating the fingerprint has been added.
You can repeat the steps to add more fingerprints.
Deleting Fingerprints
Here’s how to remove a fingerprint from the lock:
- Press the TEEHO button twice.
- Enter your Master Code and press the TEEHO button.
- Press 5. Then scan the fingerprint you want to remove 1 time (place it on the fingerprint scanner).
- You’ll see a green flash, followed by a long beep, indicating the fingerprint is removed.
Enabling and Disabling Auto-Lock
If you want your TEEHO Fingerprint deadbolt to lock automatically after unlocking it, you can enable the auto lock function.
Here’s how to do that:
- Press the TEEHO button twice.
- Enter your Master Code and press the TEEHO button.
- Press 7. Then press 1 and press the TEEHO button.
- You’ll see a green flash, showing auto-lock is enabled.
To disable auto-lock, repeat the same steps but press 2 in the last step (instead of 1), then hit the TEEHO button.
Locking and Unlocking Your Door
To Lock from Outside:
- Press any key on the keypad for about 3 seconds to lock your door.
- If auto-lock is enabled, the lock will lock automatically after a few seconds (30 seconds by default).
- You can also use the physical key to lock it.
To Lock from Inside:
- Rotate the turn piece to the Lock position.
- If you have auto-relock enabled, the lock can lock itself after 30 seconds or so.
To Unlock from Outside:
- Enter a User Code or Master Code on the keypad and press the TEEHO button.
- Place your finger on the fingerprint scanner.
- Use the physical key to unlock.
To Unlock from Inside:
- Rotate the turn piece to the Unlocked position.
Enabling and Disabling Vacation Mode
If you’re leaving home for a long time for vacation or something else, you can enable Vacation Mode to disable all User Codes.
Here is how to enable Vacation Mode:
- Press the TEEHO button twice.
- Enter your Master Code and press the TEEHO button.
- Press 8 and press the TEEHO button.
- Vacation Mode is enabled.
To disable Vacation Mode, enter your Master Code on the keypad and hit the TEEHO button.
Resetting the TEEHO Fingerprint Lock
You want to reset the lock if it’s malfunctioning or if you’ve lost your Master Code.
Note that this action will remove all codes, including User Codes and the Master Code. You’ll have to reprogram the lock after performing a reset—starting with changing the default Master Code.
That said, here’s how to reset your TEEHO Fingerprint deadbolt:
- Make sure the door is open and unlocked.
- Open the battery cover. Next, get the reset tool that comes with the lock or a pin.
- Find the reset button below the battery compartment—a small circle hole.
- Insert the reset tool into the hole. Then press and hold it.
- Remove one battery and put it back in—while still holding the reset tool.
- Wait until you hear a long beep, and the latch extends to the lock position.
- The reset is complete. Release the reset button.
- Replace the battery cover and reprogram the lock.
Final Thoughts
While programming the lock, green flashes indicate a successful operation/programming.
If you see red flashes, it means unsuccessful programming or programming timed out. In this case, start from the beginning and do not waste time before moving to the next step.
