Eufy Doorbell SYNC Button Not Working: How to Fix
While adding your Eufy doorbell to the Eufy app, you’ll need to press the SYNC button on the doorbell. You should hear a beep from your doorbell when you press the SYNC button. If the SYNC button doesn’t beep, the button isn’t working.
If that sounds like what you’re experiencing and are looking for tips to troubleshoot your Eufy Doorbell Sync Button, keep reading.
Tips to Fix Eufy Doorbell SYNC Button Issues
So here are some tips to help you troubleshoot the faulty SYNC button on your Eufy doorbell:
1. Long Press the SYNC Button for 3 Seconds
To Sync your Eufy Doorbell, you’ll need to press and hold the SYNC button for about 3 seconds. If the SYNC button appears not to be working, chances are you’re not pressing it long enough.
Press and hold the SYNC button for up to 3 seconds. If you don’t hear a beep after this, continue to the next troubleshooting step.
2. Charge Your Eufy Doorbell
If your Eufy Doorbell SYNC button isn’t working, the batteries might be low. So, another way to troubleshoot this issue is to charge the doorbell.
If you’re not sure how to charge your Eufy Doorbell, follow the steps below:
- Check underneath your doorbell for a tiny circular hole.
- Insert a pin into this hole to detach your doorbell from your door.
- Turn to the back of the device to find the micro USB port. You’ll see the tag Micro USB on the cover of the port.
- Pop out the cover of the port. Then insert the cord that came with the doorbell into the USB port.
- Disconnect the cord from the USB port after 10 minutes. Then re-attach the doorbell to the door.
Now your Eufy Battery Doorbell is charged. Try long pressing the SYNC button again to see if it works. Still no sound from your doorbell? Continue to the next step.
3. Check that You Selected the Correct Eufy Doorbell
Eufy has two doorbell types—the wired doorbell and battery doorbell. For the device to SYNC with the app, you’ll need to ensure you select the doorbell you own. That is, if you have a wired doorbell, check that you have selected Wired Doorbell. And if you use a battery doorbell, ensure you select Battery Doorbell in the Eufy app.
Note that you’ll need to restart the setup process to ensure you select the appropriate doorbell type.
If this checks out, yet the SYNC button won’t work, continue to the next step.
4. Fix Connectivity Issues
Your Eufy Doorbell SYNC button may not be working because your Wi-Fi network is malfunctioning.
You can troubleshoot your Wi-Fi by rebooting your router and ensuring that the router is operating on the 2.4GHz band. See more details on how to troubleshoot connectivity issues in your Eufy Doorbell.
5. Update Your Eufy App
You need to ensure that you have the current version of the Eufy app for all features to function properly. If you’re still having issues getting the doorbell to SYNC, check that your app is up-to-date.
You can check for updates and update the Eufy app on your app store. This depends on the phone you’re using. For Android, go to Google Play Store and search for “Eufy app”, if there’s an update, you’ll see it beside the app. Tap the Update button to update the app.
For iPhones, go to the App Store. Then search for the “Eufy app” and update it (if there are new updates to the app).
Next, press the SYNC button again. If it still doesn’t work, continue to the next step.
6. Contact Eufy Customer Support
If the SYNC button is still not working, the device might be defective. So, get in touch with Eufy Customer Support and report the issue.
To get the Eufy Customer Support to respond to your query fast, send a video recording of the fixes you’ve tried without success. Or you can upload an app log via the Eufy app to get them to respond quickly.
